AKA; Otherwise I Might Not Have Gotten Out of Bed
Oh, the “beauty” of National Adoption Awareness Month; I get to go back on HuffPo Live and talk adoption. I kind of work up at 5am with a killer headache. I think I willed it back off as I knew I had to do the “Why I Gave My Baby Up for Adoption” segment today on Huffington Post Live.
I think my talking points are getting better: hit that 13 billion dollar industry, call the Children in Families First act the “Adoption Agency bail out bill”.
You can watch it archived now.
Around minute 12, you can hear my dog barking like a moron. I try to throw things at her behind my back to get her to shush, but it was Aunt Chickie at the door! I think they edited out me yelling to Aunt Chickie to “Shut up I’m filming on air!”
Never a dull moment in this house. I had a not on the door in case Rye came home early. He usually walks in an shouts. Alas, it was windy today and I fear my “SHUSH I’m On the Air” note flew away!
Oh, and a plethora of ignorant comments should you wish to join in.
Well done Claudia. And I’m assuming the Eileen Burke being interviewed is the Eileen Burke who posts to this blog, if so well done Eileen as well.
Hi Greg,
Yes, it was me 😉 A very nervous, not quite sure what I said because my brain disconnected from my mouth mid thought, me. I haven’t watched it yet and I probably won’t, but I do hope that I was at least a little articulate. Thank you to Claudia for forwarding this opportunity to speak, it was a great experience.
You didn’t seem nervous. I thought you were calm and articulate. It’s tough to be interviewed in that type of setting especially if you aren’t used to it. You did better than you give yourself credit for.
I saw that you are located not too far where my wife grew up in Danbury. Most of her family is from up there.
Ha! That’s funny I grew up in Danbury 🙂
That is funny :). My wife grew up on Gregory Street in Danbury which she lived at until she was 16 which is really funny. Plus my mom used to spend her summers as a kid at Candlewood Lake. Very small world especially in the Northeast. 😉
