Adoption News and Events on Facebook

So there is a new Facebook Page for Adoption called Adoption News and Events

There is a bunch of people from around the adoption community already putting up links to what they find online having to do with adoption. Yes, I picked people who are mad sharers and who seem to be the source for the stuff that we all pass around on Facebook. Right now, facebook is being a bit of a jerk with allowing me to add more people, but I think we should be able to add more shortly ( Facebook is ALWAYS buggy in some way.. so we wait and curse at them!)

Please like the page, if you have not already! And please feel free to add whatever you happen to find around on the page as well. You can add blog links or newspapers articles, or websites or whatever that looks like the adoption community would be interested in! Yes, self promotion is cool… adoption agency advertising is NOT!! Can I stress that enough? NOT!

Now what’s super totally cool and awesome about this page is that we use to share with each other ON Facebook as one central news source, AND.. we can take it OFF Facebook too!

How to add the “Adoption News and Events” “Like” box to YOUR website or blog!

Directions for Blogger/ BlogSpot:

Gosh, got to love blogger for the ease that they let us add most things to our sites!
So First, sign into your blog and on your DASHBOARD got to DESIGN:

Then, click on ADD A GADGET. That will bring up another smaller window:

You want the opne that says : HTML / JavaScript, click it!

Copy and Paste the SNIPPETS of Code (below)  in the window and hit SAVE.
At this point you can DRAG the new gadget around on your sidebar until it looks pretty.
Make sure you SAVE the whole blog from the UPPER ORANGE SAVE BUTON above too!

Directions for A WordPress Blog:

For WordPress Blgos it’s just as EASY if you have WIDGETS installed. If you don’t, then either you are a big geek or you might need to have someone help you.  ( or you know HTML and can drop it in the right place in your template, in which case, why are you reading this?)

IN the back end of yoru WordPressInstall, under APPEARENCES, the drop down will hopefully say WIDGETS. Click that.

Then, depending on your number of SIDEBARS ( sometimes you need to drop it around to fiqure out which place is the right sidebar,  you want to find the WIDGET that says TEXT. Drag that to the sidebar of choice.

Again, copy and past the snippets of code ( only one!!) to the widget and hit SAVE.

ADOPTION NEWS AND EVENTS IFRAME CODE:

You have your choices of CODING, but BOTH should work.. the top one ( Iframe) seems to load faster, but you can try both and later delete the one that looks slower!

Now to get these codes to APPEAR on this blog and NOT work..Now here is the HUGE pain in the butt.. if I wrie the codes here, then they WORK and you can’t grab them!  So I have to make them an image:
