Adoption’s Birthmother Submissions Wanted – Dec 2012

Here’s a few anthology writing submissions and the start of the end of year Best of Blogs, all for adoption, of course. Birthmother perspectives, as well as adoptee stories, are needed. Add your voice!

Vance Twins Shedding Light on Adoption Anthology

The deadline is approaching and I was asked to spread the word to moms as they are still seeking more stories of the birthmother perspectives. You can re-purpose an already existing piece or post written. Specifically,  they asked for anything that points out the woman’s rights violations that occur to women all over the world in the name of adoption. Particularly, the Spanish mothers of the Stolen babies. If you know a mother who might be willing to share her story or a mom who already has a blog and we could just get reprint permission, please send them along!

Please see the link here for more information.

Length: Submissions should be up to 3000 words which is about 5-6 double spaced pages if 12 pt. font. Authors can use pseudonyms or contributions can be used as an opportunity to promote your website, blog or other writings.

Send Your Birthmother stories to:  vancetwins @ ymail.com

Adoption Submission Deadline: January 13th, 2013.

Nominate Your Favorite Posts: Best of Open Adoption Blogs 2012

Best Open Adoption Blogs 2012

This is an exercise in spreading the love. In order to submit one of your own posts from 2012 (don’t be shy–every blogger has something worth submitting), you  need to also nominate a post written by someone else. Most of us are here online because we’ve been affected by others’ writing. This is a chance to pat another writer on the back and tell them how much we appreciate them sharing their lives and thoughts with us. If you don’t blog yourself, that’s fine. You can still submit something written by someone else.

More Information here on Open Adoption Bloggers

Send your Submissions in by the form here.

Adoption Blog Deadlines: The list will go live on January 4. Anything submitted by January 3 will be included when the list is published on January 4.  The form will stay open through January 31 with added items as they come in. So, in short: January 3 is the initial deadline, January 31 is the final deadline.

Please share these call for submissions with anyone you feel would make a great contribution and get writing!
