Halloween Complications

So we all know how much I dig Halloween, right? A old Goth chick’s dream come true…dress up decorate…yummmy!

So one of the things that i have had on my to do list has been to get out my HW decor and get it up. I have a reputation in this neighborhood after all..and people have been asking. I wanted to get started on Sunday/ Mon past as they were my day off, but i had a stomach buggy thing..and puked..so i feel behind. Plus, I am trying to get a crap load of other stuff done now….PR and promotion for RegDay, the ethics conf in days…ugg.
Anyhoo…so I began the project Friday afternoon. Had the urge to get some more new things..my lights were being funky, couldn’t find my yarn to weave spider web on the porch. So Frioday evening I was happy to get out of work early…had time to stop by evil Walfart on the way home sand check out thier stuff. And when i got home, bags in tow, i was happy to putz about, unpacking my new stuff, etc.

Now Rye had had a few beers, and was popping back and forth between neighbor’s abodes. I enjoyed the nice oct night aitr, hung my lights, green this yerar, admired my new tombstones, and then, the last thing I was going to hang …the real steer skull trhat hangs over the front porch stairs.
I’m just a bit too short.
The skull is pretty heavy and bulky.
I lined up the step stool , very, very, close to the edge of the stairs. Climbed up, blindly felt for the nail and hooked the skull…but..it was just quite hanging the way it should. So i applied some pressure..and it gave way..
and i jolted..
and the step stool..very very close to the edge..was just too close..
and it folder up while i still stood on it..and i surfed the step stool to the bottom of the stairs…

and somwhere in alll that..whether the skull smashed it, or i was trying to not go down.. i managed to break my arm.

BADLY. my left, upper arm..the big bone between my shoulder and elbow.

I Broke My Arm

i knew immediatly..heard it crack.. felt it for sure..it did that weird dangliy thing…oh vomit!!! major pain..I had yelped going down.
luckily my neighbors two houses down, Jack and Jill were just coming home and heard me…so did Kim across the street..all came to help. Jill git Rye, Jack ice…kim watched the kids whilt J & j drove us to the ER

Rye kept on asking..are you sure it is broken?

and i am like its fucking broken..no question.

I was, unfortunatly, right. Soo right. I hope we can get copies of the xrays to show..omg..the damn bones were like at a 45 degree angle…soo gross. They were grinding against each other…blah!
So the ortho set it.. i got this wacky slind thing on..freaking hurts..good drugs..in two weeks..if it is not setting ok..
i get to find out if i get a steel rod in it. lovely.

No work for me tonight…or like the next god knows how long..

oh..and one handed typing..so you all know the details now…no more typing..call me!!
